Why replace

When old windows become a liability.

If your home was built before 2002 (when Florida Building Code first required hurricane-rated openings in most coastal counties), your windows almost certainly don't meet current code. That doesn't mean they're illegal — existing non-impact windows are grandfathered until you replace them. But it does mean:

01

Your insurance is higher than it needs to be.

Without the wind-mitigation credit, you pay full price on the wind portion of your premium. In Sarasota County, the wind portion is typically the largest line on a Florida policy.

02

Your AC works harder.

1980s and 1990s aluminum single-pane windows leak air and conduct heat. Cooling costs run 20–35% higher than they would with modern impact units with Low-E.

03

The next hurricane is a coin flip.

Plywood and shutters help, but they require advance deployment. Impact windows are always on.

04

Resale value is capped.

Buyers in Florida actively look for impact-rated openings — a home without them sells for less or sits longer.

Most of our Sarasota retrofits replace 1980s–2000s aluminum non-impact units. The opening sizes are standard, the install is straightforward, and the insurance and energy savings start the month after install.

Replacement FAQ

Common questions.

Should I replace all my windows at once?

For maximum wind-mitigation credit, yes — the credit reaches its full level when every opening is protected. Partial replacements still help. We can phase the project across two install dates if needed.

What does the replacement process look like?

8–12 weeks total: 6–10 weeks manufacturing, 1 week permit, 1–3 days install. Full step-by-step on the installation page.

Can you replace just one or two windows?

Yes. Partial replacements are welcome. Mobilization adds small overhead vs full-home, but it's still a legitimate service.

Do you remove and dispose of old windows?

Yes. Disposal is included in every install. Your driveway is clean when we leave.
