For maximum insurance benefit, yes — Florida's wind-mitigation credit reaches its highest level when every opening in the home is protected. Partial replacements still help, but the credit reduces if some openings remain unprotected. We can phase the project across two install dates if budget requires.

Q: What does the replacement process look like?

From signed contract to installed, plan 8–12 weeks: 6–10 weeks manufacturing, 1 week permit, 1–3 days install. We measure each opening precisely, file all permits, and our in-house crew handles the swap one room at a time with floor protection and plastic isolation.

Q: Can you replace just one or two windows?

Yes. We do partial replacements regularly — a damaged or broken window, a kitchen retrofit, or a specific room. Mobilization adds a small overhead vs a full-home project, but it's still a legitimate service. Best value per dollar is whole-home, but partial is welcome.

Q: Do you remove and dispose of old windows?

Yes. Old window disposal is included in every install. We haul out the units, the trim debris, and any sealant or insulation we cut through. Your driveway is clean when we leave.

Why replace

When old windows become a liability.

If your home was built before 2002 (when Florida Building Code first required hurricane-rated openings in most coastal counties), your windows almost certainly don't meet current code. That doesn't mean they're illegal — existing non-impact windows are grandfathered until you replace them. But it does mean:

Your insurance is higher than it needs to be.

Without the wind-mitigation credit, you pay full price on the wind portion of your premium. In Sarasota County, the wind portion is typically the largest line on a Florida policy.

Your AC works harder.

1980s and 1990s aluminum single-pane windows leak air and conduct heat. Cooling costs run 20–35% higher than they would with modern impact units with Low-E.

The next hurricane is a coin flip.

Plywood and shutters help, but they require advance deployment. Impact windows are always on.
