How it works
A single-hung window has two sashes — two glass panels — stacked vertically inside one frame. The bottom sash slides up on tracks to open the window. The top sash is fixed.
That single moving part is the whole reason single-hungs dominate the Florida market:
The trade-off versus casement: less ventilation per square foot. Single-hung opens about 50% of the glass area (the bottom half), while a casement opens 100% by swinging out on its hinge. For bedrooms, kitchens, and standard rooms, single-hung is plenty. For rooms that need maximum airflow, casement is the better call — see our casement page.
Versatile engineering & code compliance
Single-hung impact windows engineered for high-velocity hurricane zones, certified end-to-end, and code-compliant for residential, commercial, and multi-family applications. Egress-ready when specified with the right configuration.
Fully tested and certified under stringent Florida Product Approval standards, ensuring robust protection against storm forces and high-velocity projectile impacts.
Engineered with heavy-duty structural integrity — ideal for residential, commercial, and multi-family construction. One spec, three building categories.
When specified with the proper size and component configurations, these windows fully meet local building code emergency egress requirements.
Core performance & size specifications
Every tier is rated, tested, and approved for Florida hurricane exposure. The right one for your project depends on opening size, wind zone, and architectural intent. We spec it during the estimate.

Customization options & upgrades
Every project is different. From the glass package to the muntin pattern, single-hungs can be specified for varying architectural requirements and localized building codes — all on top of the same Florida-approved core.
Glass thicknesses scale from standard up to 7/16″ HS/HS, 3/4″ HS/HS, or premium 15/16″ TMP/HS variants. Energy-efficient LoE coatings and laminated insulating glass infused with argon gas are also available for superior thermal performance.
Available with extruded, double-applied 1″ colonial muntins in styles like 1″ Flat-Flat or 1″ Ogee-Flat. Grid patterns can be configured in Colonial, Brittany 6, or Brittany 9 arrangements.
Optional configurations include unequal vents, equal-leg adapters, and dedicated egress sash locks to meet specific safety code specifications and adapt to diverse masonry conditions.
